Driver killed, nine hurt in bus-lorry collision

Yogendranath Reddy, 33, of Tirupati, driver of a private travel agency was killed and nine passengers sustained injuries when the bus collided with a lorry at Ayyaluru on the outskirts of Nandyal town in Kurnool district on Tuesday. The bus was bound for Hyderabad from Tirupati

The accident occurred when the bus, in an attempt to overtake a vehicle, came to a halt after ramming a roadside vending kiosk, the police said.

Nine passengers Nagamani, Seshanath Reddy, Hemanth Reddy, Siva Kumar, Ramesh, Prasanna Kumar, Tirupati and Jeevan, all of Hyderabad - were injured and were shifted to the Government hospital at Nandyal. The Nandyal Taluk police have registered a case.
