Member of Parliament from Rajamahendravaram Maganti Muralimohan has appealed to Union Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu to include a double-decker train between Visakhapatnam and Vijayawada connecting Rajahmundry in the new Railway Budget.

He also wanted the Union Minister to announce two new trains between Visakhapatnam and Varanasi via Rajahmundry, and a direct train from Visakhapatnam or Rajamahendravaram Rajadhani Express to New Delhi.

Addressing at the media here on Saturday, the MP said that he would meet Union Railway Minister on February 8 and give a detailed representation on several issues connected to the railways.

He said that there was a need to lay second line on Arch Bridge across the river Godavari as the other bridge (popularly known as Rail-cum-Road bridge) which is having two lines needed immediate repairs.

Mr. Muralimohan said that the height of the eastern side of the railway platform in Rajamahendravaram would be increased to facilitate passengers and extend the MEMU train between Bhimavaram and Nidadavolu up to Rajamahendravaram.

He said that he would organise job mela on April 10 in which 10,000 youth would take part.
