The formation of new capital for the State would require substantial investment, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu said and urged everyone to contribute at least one brick for the project.
Addressing the media here after the maiden Cabinet meeting, he thanked people who had come forward to donate for developing a new capital city.
Noting that people were keen on knowing how to donate for the project, he said that those intending to donate can draw up their cheques or drafts in the name of ‘AP New Capital Development Fund/ CM Relief Fund’. Only the CM Relief Fund was 100 per cent tax exempt and so the new fund was linked to it, he explained.

Andhra Pradesh Real Estate Developers’ Association, led by North Andhra president Gadde Chakravarthy and secretary A. Ramesh Babu handed over a cheque for Rs. 50 lakh to the Chief Minister on the occasion.
The Century Club members donated Rs. 25 lakh, CMR Group managing director Mavuri Ramana donated Rs. 20 lakh, the DCCB donated Rs. 10 lakh.
The employees of Andhra University donated a day’s basic salary amounting to Rs. 15 lakh.

Former registrar of the university Umamaheswara Rao donated Rs. 1 lakh.
The staff and employees of ANITS donated two-day’s wages of Rs. 10 lakh. Chairman of Daspalla Group Radhakrishna donated Rs. 6 lakh and the employees of the hotel chipped in with a day’s wages amounting to Rs. 1.25 lakh.
The Gokul Educational Institutions donated Rs. 5 lakh. The employees of Simhachalam Devasthanam donated Rs. 3.9 lakh and the Executive Officer Rs. 50,000.
