Family members who lost their near and dear ones in tragic accidents and health complications but chose to donate organs of the deceased for a cause were felicitated by Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS). On the occasion of World Organ Donation Day, the contribution of the family members to the cause of organ donation was praised by actor M. Mohan Babu, who was the chief guest.

“When a loved one departs us, it pains. But when the family decides to donate organs of the deceased, they are not just giving a fresh lease of life to needy patients, but they are also giving an opportunity for their loved ones to live on in someone else,” he said, after honouring the family members. In fact, Dr. Mohan Babu also decided to pledge his organs for the noble cause.

On the occasion, speakers stressed on the importance of overcoming myths and fears surrounding organ donation and take the humanitarian route to live again by supporting organ donation.
