Public sector power utilities received a big boost with the State Cabinet at its meeting on Saturday approving the creation of 406 posts in the two Discoms and 382 additional posts in the AP-Transco.
Of the 406 posts for Discoms, 240 are in SPDCL and the remaining in the EPDCL across various cadres in engineering, personnel, accounts and operations and maintenance services. This entails an expenditure of ₹25.43 crore per annum. The expenditure that the additional posts incur is around ₹37 crore per annum.
The Cabinet also approved the creation of six assistant sthapati posts for temple renovation in the TTD.
