The State government will request the National Archives of India under the Ministry of Culture and other government departments to share history and important literature on Kuchipudi dance in available formats.
Kuchipudi Natyaramam Chairman K. Anand on Sunday said important literature of certain period of the Kuchipudi dance was lost and it was inevitable to seek help from the Central government to prepare a digital archive of Kuchipudi dance.
Mr. Anand added that the digitisation of literature and photos of Kuchipudi dance would begin from early July.

The exercise of digitisation will be done from a temporary office of the Natyaramam project on the premises of the Sri Siddhendra Yogi Kuchipudi Kalakshetram here.
The lives of present gurus and village history would be initially digitised apart from preparing a digital archive of videos of legends in the Kuchipudi dance.

On the need for acquiring at least 100 acres for the Kuchipudi Natyaramam, Mr. Anand added that the State government would explore options to acquire it soon.
Citing that Kerala’s Kalamandalam and Tamil Nadu’s Kalakshetra were built on nearly 100 acres, Mr. Anand said that the proposal to acquire 100 acres land for Natyaramam project was need of the hour to encourage the art form through various modes of promotion.
NRI students’ gesture
The Non-Resident Indian students in various States of the US donated funds for modernisation of a government high school building here. They will also conduct a special programme to raise funds for their counterparts in Kuchipudi on June 28 in the US.
‘Swachh Kuchipudi’
Deputy Speaker M. Buddha Prasad accompanied by Mr. Anand and elders of Kuchipudi village on Sunday participated in ‘Swachh Kuchipudi’ and observed ongoing beautification works of local pond. The SiliconAndhra organisation, which has adopted the dance village, began construction of a health centre behind the Kalakshetram and completed 2.1 km length of road project within the village.
