Sustain satisfaction levels among the public, CM tells cadre

To sustain the momentum of the Dharma porata deeksha and gear up the cadre for the general elections, the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) on Wednesday decided to organise the deekshas in every district until January 2019.

And, to set the tone, the next public meeting would be organised in Visakhapatnam soon. The deekshas would culminate as a massive public meeting at Amaravati in January.

The venue for the Amaravati meeting was not yet announced.

The party would also organise a series of programmes including the Dalita Tejam apart from the ongoing cycle yatras. It would be organised in Nellore in the first week of June and a meeting for minorities in Guntur on May 14.

These decisions were taken at the TDP coordination committee meeting chaired by national president and Chief Minister, N. Chandrababu Naidu.

Word of caution

Evidently blowing the election bugle, Mr. Naidu made it amply clear to the leaders that complacency and negligence would not be tolerated. “I am not ready to pay for your mistakes. The people would respond and react in their way to our actions and deeds. Be watchful of your actions,” he said.

The development and the fight for the rights pushed up the satisfaction levels among the public. The people were positive to the government, governance and its policies, he said.

The public satisfaction was 67% in March and touched 73% in April.

“I have utmost satisfaction that the amount of work and development taken place during the last four years doesn’t match with any development taken place in 40 years of my public life,” he said.

The people should have the same positive feeling towards the party also. The public should support and favour the TDP in every constituency. The rank and file must work with unity.

There was no room for dissent and disunity. The TDP must win all the seats, he said.

YSRCP’s ‘secret agenda’

Taking jibes at the YSR Congress, Mr. Naidu said the party and its president Y.S. Jagan were criticising the Telugu Desam conveniently ignoring the BJP-led NDA government. The BJP failed to keep its promise — Special Category Status. The YSRC was feigning ignorance of the facts and criticising the TDP. What was the secret agenda behind it, he asked.

The BJP which claimed to be party with ethics and moral values was easing the Enforcement Directorate attachments. It also joined hands with the corrupt people in Karnataka. The mining cases slapped against them were being withdrawn. Karnataka would be the best case study for compromise politics, he alleged.
