DGP inaugurates convention centre

Director-General of Police J.V. Ramudu on Monday inaugurated a convention centre built by the police department at the Police Complex here.

The convention centre, which earlier used to be one of the most prominent places for conducting functions and marriages for all people, especially police personnel, being located in the centre of the town, was renovated at a cost of Rs. 3 crore.

Mr. Ramudu also inaugurated a newly renovated state-of-the-art police control room, renovated at a cost of Rs. 78 lakh, accommodating the latest technologies to access and relay information on emergencies for timely action by the police station concerned in the district.

Speaking to the media after inaugurating the control room, Mr. Ramudu said that the measure of effective policing anywhere in today’s world was directly related the quantum of cutting edge technology that was being used by the police.
