K. Narayana

The CPI has expressed its willingness to be part of any all-party team formed by the State government to press for Special Category Status (SCS) to Andhra Pradesh.

Party’s national secretary K. Narayana has also announced that his party will extend support to the TDP if it moves a no-confidence motion in Parliament against the NDA Government.

Addressing the media here on Tuesday, Dr. Narayana declined to be part of any delegation to New Delhi if it were only for demanding special package. “The implementation of special package is subject to teh Central government’s policies, and hence could suffer a setback with a change of guard at the Centre,” he cautioned.

Taking a dig at Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, he wondered how Mr. Naidu, known for his “far-sighted nature,” could remain silent for four long years in spite of the injustice done by the Centre in its budgetary allocations.

“Bifurcation became a reality with the support of all the parties and hence the government should take the support of all the parties, even those in Telangana, to derive maximum benefit for the State,” he said, appealing to the government not to resort to blame game on the “spilt milk.”
