The Principal Special Court for CBI Cases here on Monday ordered issuance of summons to Home Minister P. Sabitha Indra Reddy and 11 others for their personal appearance on June 7 in a case relating to quid pro quo investments in Kadapa MP Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy’s companies.
Ms. Sabitha is the third Minister in the State Cabinet after Mopidevi Venkataramana Rao (after his resignation) and Dharmana Prasada Rao to be summoned by the special court in connection with the Jagan case.

The court also directed the Chanchalguda prison authorities to produce Jagan before it since he is in judicial custody.
The court took the decision after taking into cognizance a charge-sheet filed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on April 8 on the issue of quid pro quo investments by Dalmiya Cement in Jagan’s companies. Ms. Sabitha was named as the fourth-accused in that charge-sheet.
Other accused in the case include Jagan, V. Vijay Sai Reddy, Puneet Dalmia, Y. Srilakshmi, V.D. Rajagopal, Sajjala Diwakar Reddy, Sanjay S. Mittra, Neel Kamal Beri, Joy Deep Basu, Raghuram Cements (presently Bharati Cements), Dalmia Cement and Eswar Cements (now merged into Dalmia Cement) in that order.

The court took cognizance of charges under the provisions of IPC and Prevention of Corruption Act against Ms. Sabitha. She has been charged under Sections 120-B (criminal conspiracy) read with 420 (cheating and dishonesty), 420 and 409 (criminal breach of trust by a public servant). Besides, she is also charged under Sections 9 (taking gratification), 12 (abetment of offences), 13(2) read with 13(1)(c)&(d) (criminal misconduct by a public servant) of the PC Act.
Cognizance of charges under IPC Sections was taken against all the remaining accused and under PC Act Sections against Jagan, Dalmia and Rajagopal, who has retired from service.
Srilakshmi case
As for Srilakshmi, the CBI had informed the court that it would write to the government seeking permission to prosecute her under provisions of PC Act in this case.
