The Congress leadership has constituted a three-member committee headed by former Minister Anam Ramanarayan Reddy to prepare a ‘vision document’ for the comprehensive development of irrigation and drinking water sources and all other sectors in the newly formed Andhra Pradesh, following bifurcation of the State, A.P. Congress Committee president N. Raghuveera Reddy said on Wednesday.
Speaking in a Meet the Press programme , organised by A.P. Union of Working Journalists Kadapa district unit in YSR Memorial Press Club, Mr. Raghuveera Reddy said the vision document would be accorded legal status by the Central Government. A website would also be started by Mr. Ramanarayana Reddy, who is also the Congress Election Manifesto Committee chairman, to elicit the opinions of all sections of people and the practicable suggestions would be taken into account, he said.
Irrigation and drinking water was the prime concern and completion of Polavaram project would provide some solace to Rayalaseema. Ensuring assured water allocation by converting the surplus water allotted was a major challenge, he said.

Union Minister J.D. Seelam said a solar energy park could be set up in Rayalaseema and each of the four districts would get at least one national-level institution. He assured to take up the issue of Dammugudem-Nagarjunasagar project as a Central project for meeting irrigation needs of Rayalaseema after the elections.
Union Minister for Tourism K. Chiranjeevi said the concerns of the people of Rayalaseema would be incorporated in the vision document.
