All the senior Congress leaders made a concerted effort to mobilise and send the Congress workers from the district to the Telangana meeting on Nizam College grounds in Hyderabad on Sunday.

Minister for Major Irrigation P. Sudarshan Reddy and APCC former president D. Srinivas held discussions for the last two days with the party leaders belonging to the district on the arrangements being made to send the workers to the meeting and was decided to bear the travel expenses. The Minister took initiative to arrange over 100 RTC buses, around 10 each to all the nine Assembly constituencies. Accordingly, the amount to hire buses was handed over to the RTC officials in the form of a cheque by the Congress leaders on Friday evening here. Apart from the RTC buses, private vehicles were also made available. The buses were seen packed with leaders as well as party workers bound for Hyderabad. PCC secretary D. Surendar, party town president Kesa Venu and Mahila Congress district president Arunatara flagged off the buses at the Congress Bhavan here. Former ZP chairman Taher Bin Hamdan and former DCC president Gadugu Gangadhar supervised the arrangements in the district.
