Tamil Nadu Governor K. Rosaiah on Sunday exhorted private educational institutions to contribute their mite to improve the quality of education in the country. Taking part in the silver jubilee celebrations of the VRS and YRN College here, he said both the Union and State governments were according top priority to education. Private players should also chip in with their contributions to improve the quality of education in the country. He expressed concern over the recent trend of commercialisation of education. Transport Minister Sidda Ragava Rao highlighted the efforts being made by the government to check the dropout rate among children in schools. TDP ryots wing State president Karnam Balarama Krishnamurthy, and MLA Amanchi Krishnamohan were among those present.
