Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has accepted to lay the foundation stone for the construction of the headquarters building of the Sapthagiri Grameena Bank (SGB) at Chittoor town, and the schedule will be finalised soon, said the bank’s chief general manager B.N. Nageswara Rao here on Wednesday.

Mr. Nageswara Rao told the media that the bank’s Chairman K.S. Sudhakar Rao called on the Chief Minister in Hyderabad on Tuesday and made an appraisal about the bank’s progress in Chittoor and Krishna districts, with 163 branches, having an annual turnover of Rs. 6,000 crore, predominantly focusing on the agrarian front.

The bank official said that the bank was allotted land for its headquarters building near Collectorate by the government. “Once the headquarters building is complete, it will be a feather in the bank’s cap, and would provide us ample opportunities to extend our focal areas of service,” Mr Rao said.
