CM sees Polavaram dam model in Pune

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu visited the three-dimensional model of the Polavaram Project created at the Central Water and Power Research Station (CWPRS) in Pune, on Friday.

Director of the Institute and authority on River Hydraulics V.V. Bosekar received Mr. Naidu. A.P. Water Resources Minister Devineni Umamaheswara Rao, Principal Secretary Shashi Bhushan Kumar and Engineer-in-Chief M, Venkateswara Rao accompanied the Chief Minister.

The CWPRS is one of the foremost organisation in the world in the field of or hydraulics and allied research. It provides specialised services through physical and mathematical model studies in river construction training and flood control, hydraulic structures, harbours, coastal protection, foundation engineering, construction materials, pumps and turbines, ship hydro-dynamics, hydraulic design of bridges, environmental studies, earth sciences and cooling water intakes.

The three dimensional model has been created in one acre land at the cost of ₹40 lakh for testing and also for training engineers.

Ms. Bosekar presented the Chief Minister a book on the history and achievements of CWPRS on the occasion.
