CM pats JEE mains rankers from govt. colleges

Tells them to emulate leaders like NTR, Ambedkar

IIT-JEE mains rankers, who studied in the SC, ST residential colleges run by the State government, met Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu at the Secretariat on Friday and expressed their gratitude to Mr. Naidu. “We cannot forget the encouragement given by you,” they said.

Patting on the back of the students, the Chief Minister said he was proud that 216 students studying in the government residential institutions had qualified in the IIT-JJE mains-2018 examination. K. Srikanth, K. Amrutha, D. Lavanya, Bhukya Lalitha, T. Jeevitha, P. Koti, B. Ashok Kumar, Nirupa and Ravi Kumar secured more than the general cutoff marks (72) in the exam.

The government’s objective was to provide corporate and quality education to the poor and needy, he said.

Govt. aid

The government was extending a financial assistance of ₹15 lakh to the students to pursue education abroad. Inequalities in society could be removed if the poor get educated. The rankers had proved that anyone could succeed if opportunity was provided, he said, adding, “Emulate leaders like former Chief Minister N.T. Rama Rao and B.R. Ambedkar. Their lives are ever inspiring as they started from the scratch and won accolades.”

Social Welfare Minister Nakka Anand Babu, Chief Minister’s Principal Secretary Girja Sankar, Social Welfare Principal Secretary S S Rawat and others were present.
