CM: I’m not scared, but police must do their job

May 21, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:59 am IST - MYSURU:

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah expressed his unhappiness over the security breach at the Vidhana Soudha on Tuesday when a supporter presented him a battery-operated, LED-equipped electronic floral garland.

Speaking on the incident to presspersons here on Wednesday, Mr. Siddaramaiah said though the garland was brought in by a person known to him, the moot question was how the police allowed it into his chambers.

“The garland was inside a box and was fixed to a cell. Police were not aware of it as it was a familiar person who was carrying it in.” “First of all, I don’t want high security as I harbour no fear and perceive no threats. But the police have to discharge their duty and ensure minimum protection,” he added.
