Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy is reportedly mulling over resigning from his post soon after a debate on the A. P. States Reorganisation Bill concludes in the Assembly later this month.
Party leaders say his unprecedented outburst against the Congress high command at a public meeting in Vijayawada on Saturday was part of his plan to distance himself from the Centre’s plan to partition the State.
He was initially planning to restrict his speech to problems relating river water sharing but changed his mind after the Cabinet cleared the Bill.

Once the Bill goes to Parliament, Mr. Reddy may resign without waiting for the central leadership to take action against him, sources maintain.
