CJI worships at Tirumala

Chief Justice of India Justice T.S. Thakur, who is currently on a two-day pilgrimage to the hill town, offered prayers at the famous hill temple of Lord Venkateswara for the second time on Sunday.

On his arrival at the main temple complex, he was received with the traditional ‘Isti kapal’ temple honours by the priests and the authorities and led into the sanctum sanctorum. The honours were not extended to him on Saturday as he arrived at the temple after the sunset.

As is customary, the chief priest of the temple honoured him with ‘silk vastram’ of the presiding deity followed by

Vedasirvachanams by the pundits at the Ranganayakula mandapam inside the main temple complex.

Judges of the apex court Justice N.V. Ramana and Justice Ranjan Goel also accompanied him.

Accompanied by his family members, he also offered prayers at the temple of goddess Padmavathi in Tiruchanur here. TTD Joint Executive Officer Pola Bhaskar presented ‘ammavari prasadam’ and holy ‘kumkum’ to Justice Thakur.
