The success of 33 students who secured 10 on 10 GPA in the recently released SSC results was celebrated by the officials of Vijayawada Municipal Corporation and public representatives here on Thursday.
Followed by cultural performances given by the civic school students, Mayor Koneru Sreedhar, civic chief J. Nivas, MLC A.S. Ramakrishna and others felicitated the students who secured the top marks.
Apart from 10 on 10 GPAs, as many as 325 students have secured a GPA over 9.

Mr. Sreedhar congratulated the students and teachers for achieving the result on par with any corporate or private school. He assured all support to the toppers in sports and education from VMC.
Residential training
Commissioner J. Nivas said that slow-learners who were given special residential training have performed well in the examinations. He said civic school students will be able to bag top ranks in IIT entrance examinations soon.
