The district headquarters Chittoor is fully geared up for the “Praja Garjana” on Saturday against the Congress party’s decision to carve out separate Telangana State and to reiterate the demand for united State.
A call given by the local MLA and chairman of the Samaikya Rashtra Parirakshana Vedika, C.K. Jayachandra Reddy alias C.K. Babu, a gathering of over one lakh is expected for the event, including DWCRA groups, government officials, students, teaching and non-teaching staff of the private and government colleges, and general public from all over Chittoor assembly constituency. A giant dais to accommodate over 100 people has been erected at Jyothirao Phule statue junction, while the local police made elaborate security arrangements with over 1,000 personnel.
The event will commence at 9 a.m, with rallies, foot-marches and cultural events by the various sections of the Joint Action Committee and educational institutions.

As Chittoor remains the gateway to Vellore in Tamil Nadu and Bangalore in Karnataka, the district police took all precautionary measures initiating traffic diversions through the bypass roads. The event is expected to conclude in the afternoon.
Meanwhile, the Piler Samaikhyandra JAC gave a call to the educational institutions and general public for their participation in the 60-km long human chain between Piler and Madanapalle towns at 8 a.m. The JAC functionaries went round the villages alongside the Piler-Madanapalle highway, seeking large-scale participation of the people in the human chain. The prime towns of Piler, Kalikiri and Valmikipuram pass through the Piler constituency, represented by the Chief Minister, N. Kiran Kumar Reddy.
