Chiranjeevi’s loyalists to dominate Congress in Srikakulam

Actor-turned-politician Chiranjeevi’s loyalists are going to dominate the Congress with the exit of Dharmana Prasada Rao’s group from the party. Srikakulam District Cooperative Central Bank President Dola Jaganmohana Rao on Monday took charge as Srikakulam District Congress Committee president as Narthu Narendra Yadav, former DCC president, joined the YSR Congress along with former Minister.

Several erstwhile Prajarajyam Party leaders such as Mustak Mohammad, Palavalasa Karnukar, and Vanka Nageswara Rao vowed to support Mr.Dola Jagan in strengthening the party along with Union Minister of State for Communications and Technology Killi Kruparani whose family has cordial relations with Mr.Chiranjeevi.

The Congress leaders congratulated Mr.Jagan and recalled his family’s association with the party and his father and former MLA Dola Sitarama Murthy’s services to the district.

Addressing a media conference on the occasion, Mr.Jagan said that Mr.Prasada Rao’s exit would have very little impact on the Congress .

Mr.Jagan said: “Mr.Prasada Rao and others don’t have any right to target the Congress Party since it has provided political life to them for the last 30 years. They cannot get respect in the YSR Congress which is dominated by a few people unlike Congress where internal democracy is there.”

Mr.Mustak Mohammad and Mr.Karunakar said that Mr.Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy’s public meeting in which Mr Prasada Rao participated failed to evoke response from people “Mr.Y.S. Jagan did not give any importance to Mr.Prasada Rao in the public meeting. It is the indication that he would not get any respect in the YSR Congress unlike in the ruling party,” he added. Srikakulam Town Congress President Sunkari Krishna Rao, Congress spokesperson Ratnala Narasimha Murthy, Zilla Grandhalaya Samstha chairman D.S.K. Prasad, Youth Congress president Chowdary Satish and others said that new leadership would emerge in the district .
