Chief Minister pledges ₹10-cr. aid to hospital

Silicon Andhra is building facility that will cover 150 villages

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu going around the Ravi Prakash Silicon Andhra Sanjivani hospital at Kuchipudi village in Krishna district.

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has promised a financial aid of ₹10 crore to the Silicon Andhra for building a 200-bed multi-speciality hospital at Kuchipudi village in Krishna district.

Accompanied by former Supreme Court Judge J. Chelameswar, Mr. Naidu inaugurated the Ravi Prakash Silicon Andhra Sanjivani Hospital here.

Mr. Naidu said the State government’s financial support would help improve the hospital’s infrastructure.

The Silicon Andhra, an NGO, had adopted the village and spent ₹45 crore, which had been received through donations, for the hospital. Another ₹25 crore was required for its completion.

In the first phase, two floors have been completed with an emergency ward and a surgical theatre.

The Silicon Andhra Chief K. Anand explained to Mr. Naidu medical services available at the hospital, the only super-speciality facility in the region covering an area of at least 150 villages in the district.

“The grant will be released after next State cabinet meeting”, said Mr. Naidu, thanking the donors including TV 9 Group that donated ₹4 crore.

During his interaction with non-resident Indians (NRIs) at the hospital, the Chief Minister lauded their supports in developing villages through the ‘Village Adoption’ programme.

“The State government strives to develop the dance village into a renowned tourist spot,” said Mr. Naidu.

Deputy Speaker M. Buddha Prasad and Irrigation Minister D. Uma Maheswara Rao were present.
