Amid conflicting signals on the fate of Hyderabad, a large delegation of Telangana Ministers, elected representatives and MPs called on Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde to impress upon the Centre to go ahead with the process of division of the State.
The delegation, led by Deputy Chief Minister C. Damodar Raj Narasimha and Panchayat Raj Minister K. Jana Reddy along with at least five of their colleagues and over a dozen legislators, made it clear to the Union Home Minister that they were not too happy with the speculation that Centre was considering three options to decide the fate of Hyderabad.
The leaders firmly told Mr. Shinde that the Centre should honour the CWC decision that Telangana State would be formed with 10 districts and Hyderabad as its capital. They sought to know, whether the Home Ministry officials were deviating from the CWC decision and preparing new proposals for Hyderabad.

They pointed out that Hyderabad could be the common capital for 10 years and that Seemandhra people have to identify its new capital with financial package from Centre.
They reportedly said that common capital should comprise the Hyderabad police commissionerate and revenue district alone. They opposed any move to take into consideration the GHMC or HMDA area as common capital.

It is understood that the Telangana leaders were very particular about Hyderabad revenue district to be taken as the jurisdiction for common capital. But, they reportedly agreed that if the Seemandhra leaders agree for mutual concessions, the area could be increased to GHMC limits.
Mr. Shinde, it is learnt, said that there was no truth in the reports that Cabinet note has been prepared with three proposals for Hyderabad. He was quoted as telling the leaders that he did not see the note yet. “The note is being prepared by my ministry officials. I want you to allay the fears of your people about the note,” he said. Mr. Shinde reportedly assured the leaders that due procedure would be followed in completing the process of division of the State.
There was muted response when Rajya Sabha member Palvai Goverdhan Reddy told the Home Minister to take steps to ease out Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy for his non-cooperation to division of the State and impose President’s rule. Minister for Civil Supplies D.Sridhar Babu reportedly told Mr. Shinde that they did not support such a demand.
