CBI to file more charge sheets in Jagan case

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probing the quid pro quo investments case against Kadapa Member of Parliament Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy informed a special court here on Thursday that it would file one or more charge sheets in three pending aspects of the case on September 16 or 17.

The investigating agency has already filed eight charge sheets in the case already, including three on September 10. It has also filed several supplementary documents of charges to the five initially filed charge-sheets already.

quid pro quo case made the submission to the court on today when the petition seeking bail filed by Jaganmohan Reddy came before the court.

The counsel sought time for filing counter to the bail plea stating that the investigating agency was planning to file one or more charge sheets pertaining to three pending aspects within a few days and it would need time to study the petition filed by the prime accused.

Following the CBI counsel’s plea for time, the judge permitted the probe agency time till September 18 to file its counter to Jaganmohan Reddy’s bail petition and posted the matter to that date.

The court also postponed the bail petition of former Minister Mopidevi Venkataramana, an accused in the aspect of allotment of lands to Vanpic project, and the petition of Mr. Jaganmohan Reddy seeking directions to the Chanchalguda jail authorities to allow him to get food from his home every day to Friday.

Meanwhile, sources stated that the CBI would file one or more charge-sheets in the pending aspects of Lepakshi Knowledge Hub, Sandur Power and Kolkata-based companies on September 16 itself as investigating officer of the case H. Venkatesh, DIG, was likely to be relieved of charge that day on his repatriation to Kerala cadre.

New SP takes charge

An officer from Mumbai Zone of CBI, Chandrasekhar, assumed charge as the SP here on Thursday. He will take the place of Mr. Venkatesh.
