Candidates selected for police constable jobs felicitated

September 09, 2012 09:22 am | Updated 09:22 am IST - JAINOOR (ADILABAD DT.):

The joint effort by the Integrated Tribal Development Agency (ITDA) and Utnoor Sub-Division police to impart pre-recruitment training to tribal aspirants for police constable jobs has paid off as 14 of them including a woman were selected.

The number of successful candidates would have been more had the negative marking system in the written exam not been implemented, claimed the police officers who were instrumental in coaching candidates.

Successful candidates were felicitated by the Jainoor Circle police on Saturday at a function at the Jainoor police station wherein the candidates and their parents besides the police officer-trainers recounted their experience.

Some 180 candidates were given training in physical fitness over a period of 30 days in January this year by Sub Inspectors M. Ravinder of Sirpur (U) police station and J. Suresh of Jainoor police station.

They were guided by Utnoor Assistant Superintendent of Police Ambar Kishor Jha, Jainoor CI P. Kashaiah and Utnoor CI S. Acheshwar Rao.

The poor candidates from agency areas were provided free board and lodging as well as books at the training camp. The camp gave the candidates adequate exposure to competitive exams.

Mr. Jha draped shawls around the successful youths and said their victory would serve as inspiration to many more in the agency mandals. He said the effort had also improved relations between police and the society.
