The Rayalaseema Parirakshana Samithi founder Byreddy Rajasekhar Reddy on Tuesday said that the backwardness of Rayalaseema region was due to the politics of intrigue by all the political parties, including the Congress, the Telugu Desam and the YSR Congress. Mr. Reddy, an advocate of separate Rayalaseema State, was touring the district.

Addressing a press meet at Gurramkonda, Mr. Reddy said that TDP chief N. Chandrababu Naidu and the YSRC chief, Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy were competing with each other in betraying the people of Rayalaseema. He flayed Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy for neglecting the promised Handri Neeva project for the region.

He said that the region would be worst hit if it failed to get the State capital in the event of bifurcation, as there are no rivers and people were dependent on rains. He felt that the people would get justice only when the State of Rayalaseema was created.

He dealt at length with the losses the region would suffer in case of bifurcation.
