‘By-election results reflect the anti-BJP mood’

The Modi era will come to an end in 2019, says Yanamala Ramakrishnudu

The results of the by-elections in various States and the setback the BJP suffered in them reflected the mood of the nation, Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu said on Thursday.

In a statement, he said the BJP lost three out of four LS eats and 10 out of 11 Assembly seats. The results mirrored the anti-BJP wave prevailing across the country, he added.

The BJP faced defeat two times in the recent past in Uttar Pradesh. The results should serve as an eye opener to the BJP as it lost three out of four MP seats it was representing till recently. The severe drubbing was due to the anti-people policies being pursued by the Modi government, he said.

The fall of the BJP had started in Karnataka, and “the Modi era will come to an end in 2019,” he said.

Dholera issue

The BJP leaders were trying to project lies as truth. The advertisements pertaining to the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC) were enough to prove it, he said.

“The Union government has been claiming that Dholera is part of the DMIC. If that is the case, why are funds not released to the Visakhapatnam-Chennai Industrial Corridor or the Bangalore-Chennai Industrial Corridor? Are they not part of the country? How much money has been released to Dholera and how much to A.P. as part of the VCIC or the BCIC?” he asked.

Though only ₹1,500 crore was released for Amaravati, the Centre was making false claims that ₹2,500 crore had been released.

“Why is Amaravati not being promoted like Dholera?” he questioned.

Why was ₹350 crore released to A.P. taken back citing orders from the PMO, Mr. Ramakrishnudu sought to know.

The BJP leaders were clueless as the TDP exposed the Central government on the Dholera issue at Mahanadu, he said.

‘A wake-up call’

Meanwhile, IT Minister N. Lokesh, in a tweet, said the results were a sign of the things to come for the BJP. It was the BJP’s high-handedness and betrayal, and misgovernance that caused its debacle.

“Wake up A.P. BJP, and fight with your bosses for the State’s rights instead of spreading false data on funds allocation,” he said.
