Kurnool MP and YSR Congress leader Butta Renuka along with her followers met Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu at his residence near here on Tuesday. Though there was speculation that she would join the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), she did not switch her loyalties but expressed support to the TDP government.

She is likely to join the TDP at a grand public meeting in Kurnool soon.

The meeting will be conducted as soon as Mr. Naidu returns from his foreign tour.

Ms. Renuka discussed the development work in the Kurnool constituency with the Chief Minister.

Later speaking to reporters, she said the State government under Mr. Naidu was marching ahead of other States with regard to development. Andhra Pradesh could overcome financial constraints and problems associated with the bifurcation. The Chief Minister was working relentlessly for the development of the State. It was necessary to join hands in his endeavours, she said. “I want to contribute my part for the development.”

Referring to her suspension from the YSR Congress, she said she was unaware of the reasons behind it. Nor had experience to analyse them, she said.
