Ganta Sunil Kumar (18) of Magathapalli village in Mamidikuduru mandal of East Godavari, studying in IIIT at Kottayam in Kerala, allegedly committed suicide on Thursday.
Parents of the youth rushed to Kottayam on Friday to receive the body. According to the police, Sunil’s mother Lakshmi Narasamma received phone call from the college on Thursday evening that her son committed suicide by hanging in the hostel room just before lunch.
His father, Prasad of Kesanapalli Turpupalem in Malikipuram mandal, is presently working in Kuwait and after he left for his job, his family was residing at his grandfather Bhupati Satyanarayana’s house in Magathapalli.

Sunil studied Intermediate in Vignan College, Guntur, and is a topper in studies.
His sister Sunita is studying Degree in local college.
As per the information of relatives, Sunil joined IIIT in August and his mother started receiving phone calls that he is not attending classes properly from day one and not mingling with his peers.

Sunil Kumar did not tell any reason for not attending classes either to his mother or sister when they called him over phone last Wednesday.
Finally, when he did not turn up for lunch on Thursday, his roommates as well as college management went to his room and found Sunil hanging from the ceiling fan.
