Committed to ‘mitra dharma’: spokesman

G.V.L. Narasimha Rao

“The development graph of India is on a steady rise and so is the BJP’s acceptance among the people, as evident from its spread across the country. Similarly, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s personal popularity graph has also improved according to the Gallup International Survey, which has put him in the list of top three popular leaders,” according to BJP national spokesperson and psephologist G.V.L. Narasimha Rao.

Addressing the media here on Friday, Mr. Narasimha Rao said the growth graph proved that the party’s thumping victory in 2014 was not by “fluke.”

Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas is not just a slogan. It is the current NDA government’s mantra,” he said.

Quoting from a report of the Centre for Economic and Business Research, Mr. Rao said India would overtake the U.K. and France by 2018 to become the fifth largest economy in the world.

“Demonetisation and GST are the growth engines. They have been lauded across the globe,” he claimed.

He said the BJP-ruled States represented 75% of the country’s population, and predicted that the elections in Meghalaya and Karnataka would further erode the Congress party’s control.

When asked why the bonhomie evident at the top level between the BJP and the TDP was not reflected at the grassroots, he said, “We require two hands to clap.”

“The BJP is committed to the ‘mitra dharma’. The TDP leadership should rein in its cadre from making unwarranted criticism against the BJP, especially when the latter is ready to extend all support to the young State,” he observed.

Later, BJP State spokesperson G. Bhanuprakash Reddy, National Women’s Commission former member K. Santha Reddy, OBC Morcha State president J. Madhusudhan and district president B. Chandra Reddy felicitated Mr. Narasimha Rao.
