Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and former Minister Kanna Lakshminarayana on Tuesday launched a scathing attack on the CPI (M)-led Left Democratic Front (LDF) government in Kerala accusing it of lending tacit support to attacks and killings of BJP and RSS workers.

Mr. Lakshminarayana led a protest rally taken out by the BJP’s city committee from Dharna Chowk in Alankar Centre to the Sub-Collector’s office where they submitted a memorandum seeking immediate dismissal of the LDF government in Kerala.

He said incidents of killings of BJP workers in Kerala were reported from the home district of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan which hinted at the patronage enjoyed by the attackers.

“This is murder of democracy and the Pinarayi government will have to pay heavily for the anarchy it has unleashed against BJP and RSS workers in that State,” he warned.

Alleging that attacks under the Communist parties’ rule in Kerala were on the rise, he demanded immediate resignation of the Chief Minister “to uphold the tenets of democracy.”

Memo submitted

Later, in a memorandum addressed to the President of India and submitted to the officials at the Sub-Collector’s office, the party leaders alleged that the Communist forces had unleashed a reign of terror in Kerala.

They urged the President to intervene to ensure restoration of peace and harmony in Kerala.
