‘PM’s contribution not acknowledged’

The Chandrababu Naidu government is naming Centrally-funded schemes after N.T. Rama Rao and himself, ignoring the alliance with the BJP, party State vice-president K. Kapileswaraiah alleged on Saturday.

The Naidu government was reluctant to acknowledge the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s financial support to the State and take Mr. Modi’s name in any meeting, Mr. Kapileswaaiah remarked and objected to ignoring the BJP leaders and its cadre in the State.

The State government named Pradhan Mantri Bima Yojana as Chandranna Bima, though 80% of funding was by the Centre and projecting the scheme as its own, he told the media in Kurnool.

While the Centre had allotted six lakh houses to the State, Mr. Naidu named it as NTR housing scheme, he said.

The roads, drains and toilets were being built with the Central funds and most schemes were funded by the Centre, but Mr. Modi’s name was rarely being uttered by the government, he added.

He said the BJP leaders were not invited for CM’s Janmabhoomi Maa Vooru programme.
