Bear kills a woman in Srikakulam district

A 50-year-old woman was mauled to death by a wild sloth bear near Yerramukkam village of Sompeta mandal, Srikakulam district on early hours of Sunday.

She has been identified as Bipalli Urmila who succumbed to injuries in Sompeta hospital. Other persons of the same family Bipalli Duryodhana, Tirupati Rao and Appala Swami, Bipalli Rajesh, Bipalli Papa Rao and Ratti Appanna received serious injuries in the attack.

Sompeta police personnel said that the bear might have come from Chattisgarh gion in a goods train to Sompeta.
