The arguments in two writ petitions filed challenging the decision to extend the tenure of Chief Secretary P.K. Mohanty were concluded before the division bench of the High Court on Monday.

The bench comprising Chief Justice Kalyan Jyothi SenGupta and Justice P.V. Sanjay Kumar on Monday heard the counsel for the petitioners. It was averred on behalf of petitioners that the stand taken by the government that he is competent is not backed by any material and not sustainable. The Bench said the arguments are concluded and asked both sides to submit brief note on the issues raised and judgments if any by Wednesday.
