A.P. will build world class capital: Narayana

Sivaramakrishnan panel meets Naidu today, he says

Andhra Pradesh Municipal Administration Minister P. Narayana on Friday said the State government was keen on creating a world class capital and around 25,000- 30,000 acres of land would be required to build it.

Talking to reporters here on Friday, he said the Sivaramakrishnan Committee, constituted by the Union government to identify a suitable location for the new capital, would make a presentation to Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu here on Saturday.

Prior to that interaction, the advisory committee set up by the State government on new capital would have a meeting with representatives of management consulting firm, Mckinsey and Larsen & Toubro to discuss the global consultants to be approached for building the capital.

Although the Sivaramakrishnan Committee was given time till August 30 for submitting its report, the State government was expecting the report to be finalised by August 15. He said different parameters were being considered regarding land acquisition. One of them was to give some share in the development to owners of the private land that would be acquired.

Meanwhile, Communications Advisor to Andhra Pradesh Government Parkala Prabhakar said a Malaysian delegation comprising businessmen and government officials would also meet Mr. Chandrababu Naidu to offer their expertise and knowledge on building a capital city.
