The Animal Husbandry, Dairy Development, and Fisheries Department, in an order, announced the launching of a mobile veterinary ambulatory services (MVS) in the PPP mode.
The service has been named, ‘Chandranna Sanchara Pasu Seva Kendram’.
The order, issued on Friday, defined the responsibilities between the NGO and the government.

While the government will extend grant-in-aid to the veterinary doctor and paravet, provide medicines, and bear running cost, the NGO has to select the staff, purchase the fabricated vehicle and maintain it, fix the village schedule, and pay salary to the driver-cum-attender.
Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, on his 66{+t}{+h}birthday, flagged of a similar ambulance service named, ‘Chandranna Sanchara Chikitsa’, for people living in the rural areas on April 20. The mobile veterinary ambulance service, with an estimated cost of Rs. 12.60 crore a year (both recurring and non-recurring), will cater to the needs of the farming community in 45 animal husbandry divisions, covering 810 villages on a pilot basis in the first phase.
The number of units will then be increased to 180 in a phased manner within the limits of the budgetary provision.

Each unit will have a paravet and a driver-cum-attender, and is headed by a Veterinary Assistant Surgeon (VAS). It will render routine medical and specialised services. A committee, with the Managing Director of APDDCF as its chairman, and the Joint Secretary, Animal Husbandry, Dairy Development and Fisheries, and representatives of Sri Venkateswara Veterinary University, SERP, JD(AH) East Godavari, Additional Director (health), and NABARD as members, and HoD of Animal Husbandry as member-convener, has been constituted to identify the PPP partners.
The HoD has been asked to form a project monitoring unit with a dedicated project officer to take things forward.
