The Amaravati Central Park, one of the most nurtured dream of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, proposed to be developed in 300 acres of land at Sakhamuru village under Thullur mandal in Guntur district, has gained traction with the Amaravati Development Corporation Limited (ADCL) selecting developers for five of the 13 grand components that form part of the project.

Selection of developers is in the process for two more components, while bids have been invited for four others. The five sanctioned components include an Entertainment and Amusement Park, comprising a couple of family entertainment centres with multi-level parking complexes, shopping malls, multiplexes, and food courts in an area of 30 acres at an estimated cost of ₹50 crore; a Wilderness Park offering the visitors the experience of a forest at the village in a stretch of 20 acres at a cost of ₹40 crore; a Children’s Adventure Park in 15 acres at a cost of ₹15 crore; an Eco Resort in 10 acres at a cost of ₹30 crore; and a Boating and Water Sports Zone in one acre at a cost of ₹10 crore. The components for which selection of developers is in process are an Amphitheatre in 3 acres at a cost of ₹10 crore and a Rose Garden with an eco-friendly trackless toy train to go around the garden in 1,000 sq yards at a cost of ₹2 crore.

“We’ll try to bring in lot of greenery and ensure adequate play area for children. Besides all varieties of roses, we intend to plant a few exotic flowers by controlling the temperature. In the Wilderness Park, besides ancient herbal plants, we are tying to bring in ‘maha bilva’, known as Lord Shiva’s tree, and rudraksha plants. This will be in addition to a five-star and a seven-star hotels,” said D. Lakshmi Parthasarathy, chairperson of the ADCL.
