‘Let there be no delay in redressing people’s grievances’

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu wanted corruption cases to be dealt with all seriousness and said there should be no inhibition in bringing the culprits to book.

He called for framing charges properly and taking investigations to their logical conclusions to ensure the government’s objective of good governance did not take a beating.

Speaking on e-Pragati and Integrated Grievance Redressal System (IGRS) at the Collectors’ Conference here on Thursday, Mr. Naidu said he would not tolerate inordinate delay in attending to the people’s complaints as his government’s emphasis was not only on clean but also real-time governance. He appreciated the fact that people’s feedback was being taken on complaints that were closed, but where issues were unresolved.

Mr. Naidu said the officials might have their hands tied in redressing grievances having financial implications, but no other excuse was tolerable. This was where the importance of integrating all departments with the e-Pragati platform comes into picture.

“The IGRS and e-Pragati can together bring down corruption by a large measure. The Collectors have to reduce the scope for human interface in administration by adopting technologies at the village-level, thereby shut the doors on corrupt elements over a period of time,” he observed.
