On the penultimate day of annual Brahmotsavams of Sri Govindaraja Swamy temple, the processional deity of Lord Govindaraja Swamy, along with His consorts, were seated on a high pedestal throne and taken in a procession around the four mada streets on wooden chariot on Saturday, marking the conduct of the auspicious ‘Rathotsavam’.
Amidst Vedic chants and beats of traditional instruments, devotees flocked to pull the rope of the mammoth chariot.
Later in the evening, the deity was taken in a celestial ride on the ‘Aswa vahanam’.
