Water rows: Rosaiah for dialogue

July 25, 2010 11:43 pm | Updated November 28, 2021 09:16 pm IST - HYDERABAD:

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister K. Rosaiah has said that fighting with neighbouring States would not help solve contentious river water disputes.

On the eve of the meeting with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh of an all-party delegation led by him to complain against construction of ‘illegal' irrigation projects across the Godavari, including Babli by Maharashtra, Mr. Rosaiah held a teleconference with Major Irrigation Minister Ponnala Lakshmaiah and others from New Delhi.

“Such disputes can be redressed by holding dialogue and taking recourse to legal remedy,” he said. The government was determined to fight violations by the other States.
