Vigilance report creates ripples in TTD

August 20, 2010 02:00 am | Updated 02:00 am IST - TIRUMALA:

The report submitted by the Andhra Pradesh Vigilance and enforcement officials, which probed into the multi-crore Arjitha Seva tickets scam has created ripples among the TTD circles with the findings nevertheless, is said to have raised an accusing finger at a couple of board members.

Even though the contents of the report are yet to be officially disclosed, two of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) board members Anjaiah and Yadaiah vehemently denied the ‘charges' and alleged that they were being framed by certain vested interests. The duo also questioned the veracity of the Vigilance report . How can the Vigilance authorities who were asked to submit a report on the alleged kick backs in the advance reservation of seva tickets sidetrack the investigations into their discretionary quota of tickets they questioned ?

On the other hand, the senior TTD officials who openly expressed their ‘dismay' over indicting the names of few board members and a handful of TTD staff leaving behind the ‘prepotent' officials said the enforcement officials were particularly asked to probe into the details of the advance reservation of tickets booked between 2006-08 in the name of few individuals which it seems has not been compiled with given the current of state of affairs vis-à-vis the board members playing the minority card and launching a strident attack on the TTD officials.
