The man whom people instantly recall for his sound in movies - starting from 'Gulaabi', Sishindri' and more recently 'Arundhati' and Akkineni family's 'Manam' too, P. Madhusudhan Reddy (48), died of a massive heart attack on Monday morning.
He is survived by wife Sashi, children Saidutta, in his Intermediate second year and six-year-old Drudanjaneya Reddy residing at OU Colony.
Reddy lent his innovative mind and ear to over a 1,000 films in the past two decades - progressively moving from being an engineer, a recordist and a designer. He is best remembered for 'Manam', 'Okkadu' and 'Arundhati' that fetched him a Nandi Award.

The very mention of the man brings to mind the wonderful manner in which he mixed sound. He was actually called 'DTS Madhu' by many in the film industry. All through his over two decades of career in the Telugu film industry, Madhusudhan Reddy was known as a 'perfectionist'. Music director Devisri Prasad never worked with anyone else, impressed by his skills.
Producer of Arundhati movie, Shyam Prasad Reddy said that he remembered Madhusudhan as a perfectionist beyond comnpare. "Three days after Arundhati was released, Madhusdhan Reddy went to a theatre to see/hear his output and was dissatisfied with his own performance. He went back to his sound theatre and regigged his output after which we made fresh prints for distribuion", the producer recalled.
The master technician was always first to adopt new technologies in the ever-dynamic scenario of music and sound.

As news of Madhusudhan Reddy's demise spread, there was a spate of condolences and people made their way to his residence to pay their respects.
