Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) president K. Chandrashekhar Rao has threatened to launch his fast-unto-death programme if the Union Government fails to disclose its stand on the formation of separate Telangana by this month-end.
“I myself or the TRS party will not be held responsible if there is violence after his sacrifice through fast-unto-death programme. Before that, the Union and State government should realise this and fulfil its promise of a separate Telangana. The State Assembly should pass a resolution for the formation of Telangana and the Union Government should introduce a bill in Parliament and start the process for the formation of Telangana,” he maintained.

In a brief chat with newsmen, he pointed out that they would not harass the Andhra settlers who had come to eke out a livelihood, but would fight against some influential settlers, who had snatched all their belongings, including lands.
“We will not be held responsible if the protestors attack the people who snatched our jobs and lands in the region”, he observed. Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao said that the date and place for his fast-unto-death programme would be announced later.
He said that they were informing the Telangana intellectuals, writers, students, lawyers, freedom fighters, employee union leaders and others about his hunger strike programme.
