Three MLAs of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) suddenly staged a dharna at the entrance of the Chief Minister's office, inside the Secretariat, for about 15 minutes on Thursday afternoon.

Eatala Rajender, TRS floor leader in the Assembly, T. Harish Rao and Ravindra Reddy, MLAs, had gone to the Secretariat to lodge a complaint with Chief Minister K. Rosaiah against the dual standards adopted by police in dealing with the agitation in Telangana and in Coastal Andhra and to demand withdrawal of cases registered against students in the Telangana region.

The TRS leaders recalled that while their party president K. Chandrasekhar Rao was prevented by police from undertaking a fast in Siddipet and arrested whereas Congress MP L. Rajagopal and TDP MLA were allowed to launch hunger strikes in Vijayawada. Mr. Rosaiah must answer whether he was Chief Minister for the entire State or just for the Coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema regions, they said.

Meanwhile, as police moved in to take the MLAs into custody, the Chief Minister sent word inviting them to his chambers for discussions. They promptly ended their sit-in and walked to the CM's office.
