Telangana Joint Action Committee (TJAC) leadership has begun efforts to bridge its widening gap with the Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS).
A majority of the TJAC leaders are reportedly keen on sailing with TRS president K. Chandrasekhar Rao rather than conveying the impression that they are moving closer to the BJP.
These leaders held an informal meeting at a farmhouse in Ghatkesar on Tuesday afternoon to take stock of the situation arising out of the Telangana March on September 30 and also the police cases registered against the leaders.

Indications emerging from the meeting were that the TJAC leaders want to send a strong message that the TRS is an important ally in the fight to secure a separate Telangana state. Certain issues and incidents during the last few months had strained the relations between TJAC chairman Kodandaram and the TRS chief but they should not be magnified.
Sources said the leaders of Telangana employees are very clear that Mr. Rao should lead the movement till their goal is achieved. The leader conveyed this feeling to Mr. Rao when they met him recently. The TRS chief is said to be cut up with Prof. Kodandaram’s “independent” style of functioning.
It is learnt that Mr. Rao did not appear pleased with Prof. Kodandaram moving closely with Nagam Janardhan Reddy and the BJP leadership.

He is said to have asked TJAC leaders why former Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy was given preference over the TRS MLAs, who were not even invited on the dais at the Telangana March. The TJAC leaders reportedly clarified that the situation on that day was tense and the heavy police presence and downpour made it impossible to control the crowd.
In a bid to prevent a further strain in relations between the TJAC and TRS, the steering committee will hold a meeting later this week. Tuesday’s meeting was attended by Prof. Kodandaram, Deviprasad, Srinivas Goud, Vithal and Swamy Goud.
