The government will develop the beach road between Itchapuram and Tada to promote beach tourism, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has said. Inaugurating the ‘NTR Beach Festival’ here on Friday, Mr. Naidu said the government was keen on promoting tourism in the State with special focus on East Godavari district.
“Tourism development can provide employment to youngsters and generate revenue for the State. Tourism promotion is the need of the hour for Andhra Pradesh, as we are working hard to make it the top State in the country by 2029,” the CM said.
He added that as part of promoting tourism, the government was celebrating as many as nine festivals as State events, of which three festivals would be celebrated in East Godavari district. “Along with this beach festival, we are going to celebrate the Konaseema festival and the Godavari festival here to promote tourism. Since this district is known for its scenic beauty and hospitality, more and more visitors will come here from different countries,” he said.

“Along with tourism promotion, we are giving equal importance to industrial development. In addition to the existing two ports, one more port will be developed here,” Mr. Naidu said and added that the government was keen on completing the Polavaram irrigation project at the earliest.
The CM felicitated religious scholars Umar Alisha and Chaganti Koteswara Rao, medical practitioner I.V. Rao, film maker S.V. Krishna Reddy and Prof. Sarath Jyotsna Ranion the occasion.
Earlier in the day, Mr. Naidu laid the foundation stones for development works worth Rs. 369.62 crore in the city during the Janmabhoomi-Maa Vooru programme here. Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu, Home Minister N. Chinarajappa and Water Resources Minister Devineni Uma Maheswara Rao were among those who accompanied the CM.
