Demanding that public representatives from Telangana should quit to mount pressure on the Centre for forming a Telangana state, a group of over 20 lawyers on Saturday forced their way to a meeting of the ruling Congress legislators here.
Raising slogans that the Congress MLAs resign immediately, the advocates gathered at the residence of a Congress MLC in the legislators residential quarters where the meeting was on.
The lawyers sat on a dharna at the residence of Yadav Reddy and demanded that Congress’ public representatives in the region resign.

Senior Congress MLA R. Damodar Reddy came out and asked the lawyers to give a representation on their demand.
He told protesters that they should not disturb the meeting as that would serve no purpose.
Policemen tried to take away the protesters but senior Congress MLA K. Janareddy came out of the meeting and tried to pacify the agitators.

However, the protesters staged a sit-in again and raised slogans against the police and in favour of Telangana. They were, however, whisked away by the police.
A leader of protesters claimed that only a constitutional crisis triggered by resignations of the legislators would force the Centre to grant separate a Telangana.
