Mudragada Padmanabham

Mudragada Padmanabham Former Minister and Kapu leader Mudragada Padmanabham on Sunday said that he was planning to resume his agitation seeking inclusion of the Kapus in the BC list in August if the government failed to keep its promise by then.

Mr. Padmanabham called on former MP G.V. Harsha Kumar at his residence here.

Speaking to the media after the meeting, Mr. Padmanabham said that it was a courtesy call to thank the former MP, who had supported the agitation wholeheartedly.

“Not just the Kapus, but leaders from different castes are extending their support to our genuine demand. I have already written detailed letters to Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu explaining the ground reality and the need for speeding up the process,” Mr. Padmanabham said, expressing dissatisfaction over the lukewarm response from the Chief Minister.

“The BC status is a life-and-death question for the Kapus at the moment. We need clarity on the issue. This apart, the TDP has to fulfil all the promises it had made to the Kapus during the elections,” he said.

Kapu leaders Akula Ramakrishna and Vasireddi Yesudasu accompanied Mr. Padmanabham.
