: Kapu leader Mudragada Padmanabham on Thursday called on BJP MLC Somu Veerraju here at the latter’s residence. Mr. Padmanabham, who has been on the mission to achieve BC reservation status to the Kapus, visited Hyderabad and interacted with several leaders and famous personalities, including film actor-turned-politician Chiranjeevi, actor Mohan Babu and director Dasari Narayana Rao.
In his return journey, Mr. Padmanabham had a brief halt here and called on Mr. Veerraju. Speaking to the media, he said that the meeting was a courtesy call and he was garnering support from the cross section to the Kapu agitation to be launched in the month of August in the event of the State government failing to accord BC status to the Kapus by then.
He demanded that the proposed survey on the socio-economic conditions of the Kapus be conducted at the earliest.
